Artist Statement

My transition from professional graphic designer to mixed media artist came naturally. Drawn by a fascination with color and pattern, surface design has become my passion. I am committed to an artistic process that celebrates creativity and the uniqueness achievable only through imperfection and fallibility.

I enjoy working with rich colors and luxurious textures. My art explores opposing forces. I like to express contradictions and the unexpected. My sculptural forms join unlikely materials with delicate thread work. The depth apparent in my work directly relates to my appreciation of nature and interest in history. In my recent work, I see many layers of subtle, yet rich, color glowing with even greater depth of intellectual and spiritual meaning.
